That's right! I really think it is better to save money or invest to be able shift into a better profession, a descent profession. We persevere too much in this dying profession. Those corrupt people in this government doesn't even care for as long as they steal money. Dollar to peso rate is getting lower and lower but we don't even have enough increase in our salary. When we sign-off, we will still undergo another f**king trainings which they require us. Also that STCW 2010 thing is another hindrance. We do not deserve this!!! All of us should have other means of having our income so that we don't rely in seafaring anymore. It could also give them shortage or even greater, loss of seafarers for the next generation so there will be lesser remittance to be corrupted. We, seafarers should also discourage the young ones to go at sea. Have pity on them. They should know the truth. WE MUST FIND MEANS TO STOP BEING SHIP SLAVES!!!

I agree Sam..we are nothing but ship's slaves... :( spending more than half of our lives away from family... dollar now is fuckin P40. Forecasted to reach even as low as P30...SHIT!
